Paris - Montamartre

I am still chipping away at finishing my pages from my trip to Europe last May. I can't believe it's taking so long. Funny but when you are on your trip you think of all the pages you want to do, grap souvenirs galore and then you get back home..upload your photos and then that's where they stay..slowly but surely you drag your feet and you get a few done. I am finally down to the nitty gritty, but I still have all of London to do and it's so hard to scrap 1001 pictures on a two page layout. Feeling regret for omitting any I have taken. I wish I had figured out the whole Project Life theme for vacation pictures before I did all these layouts..oh well live and learn as they say.

Anyhoo sorry for rambling, but here is my Montmartre page. I had some bling that was like ribbon and decided it really worked here becuase although Montamartre is very historical it's also very beautiful in it's own way.  And I see my little camera chipboard went for a ride..sorry about that.

More PL for Houdini

I realize I don't seem to have the time to stay on top of a weekly PL but, now that the kitty is about 8 months and I am running out of protectors so capturing every few weeks should be about right to get me to her one year.

It's funny that this little girl loves to be outside but, every night around 9pm she comes back inside and snuggles with me and stays in for the night. I love that she does this and I don't have to worry about her roaming at night. She doesn't seem to care about the front yard either so she pretty much sticks to the backyards of our house and a neighbors house right next to ours where a little elderly lady lives.

Card inspired by my garden

First off I want to announce the winner from my Glitz kit giveaway from Monday, Congratulations to

what an awesome layout! lovin the white backdrop!

If you can send me an email at 1whoscraps@gmail.com with your address I will ship that right out to you.

I am loving my garden right now, it's so nice to sit outside after I get off work and enjoy all the tulips in bloom. I loved the mix of purple, pink and yellow and already gone were my white hyacinths which gave me inspiration to stamp a card with those colors.

So here is my garden and while I think my card came out fairly well I have to tell you among the 6 or 7 purple inks I own, none were close to the purple in my garden, but you have to work with what you have.

And this is the card

Pint Sized Fun and a Giveaway

Sharing a layout of my two youngest grandsons. I bought a slide for Zack's birthday and they enjoyed every minute of it. The pp is older and using up some washi tape as strips. Have to say I am late to the game with the washi tape..I think my collection is now up to 12 rolls.

Used the Cameo to cut the the fonts and added a bunch of fun embellies off to the side along with some tiny stars.

I received a Glitz kit from the Expo and while I love the paper I really don't have a use for it so I added some ink and thought I would give it away to one lucky poster. Just leave me a post and then I will do a random number draw. Just be sure and check back on Wednesday to see if it's you.

Catching up on PL for the kitty

After being at the expo, I decided you can get a lot done with project life if you just fit all your pictures in the pocket pages then go back and add in your cards and when you get home you can finish embellishing them. I got 2 vacation trips put into my PL album ready for embellishing and was able to catch up for my kitty.

I haven't been doing the PL faithfully as I would like. Remmbering to take photos is half the battle but since our weather has been sublime I find it easier to stop myself and bring out my camera out with me.

Alien Birthday card

Went to the expo over the weekend and was able to brush up on my coloring. Bought this cute alien stamp set from Technique Tuesday and couldn't resist using it.

I colored everything with copics and did some freehand drawing for the ground. Then embossed the top and used my Martha Steward score board to add a few embossed lines and added a ric rac sticker.

Sweet Little Houdini

Decided to do a layout on my little kitty, named Houdini. My son named her because she is an escape artist and she disappears and reappears without a sound or being noticed. He named her well.

I did some misting on the page and added lots of enamel embellies and a few tiny sequins.

Two more Irish cards

These are the last two cards I made for my friends. The first one uses a stencil and it's hard to tell but I used four inks to give it a gradient look, but then ended up covering two of the colors.

The second card uses a Krafty Kimmie stamp, not quite Irish but it's a fairy and thought I could get away with it since fairies and leprechauns are related, right?

Shamrocks

On Friday, I decided to take a few hours of vacation and hit the nursurey on my way home since our weather here in California has been pretty spring like and wanted to beat the crowds for the weekend. I spied these shamrocks and thought they would be a nice addition to go with my cards since I will be meeting my group of friends for lunch.

I really wanted to find a cheap fun pot to put these in but I just couldn't find anything. So I purchased some white lunch bags and cut them down. Unfortunately they look brown in the photo but I misted the bags with some Tattered Angels Glimmer mist to give them a gold sheen and tied on gold toile as well as the green ribbon. Finished them off with a little pick I made.

Bit of the Blarney

Another card for St. Patrick's Day. It's been awhile since I exercised my coloring skills, it felt kind of good. Stamp is from House Mouse..those little mice are so stinkin cute!

Check back on Wednesday to see what I bought to go with my Irish cards.

Cards - Irish Blessings

These certainly are not your typical green St. Patrick's Day cards but I loved these blessings and always thought they could be used any day on top of just St. Patty's Day.

I don't know why but I love misting lately..it's kind of fun so had to try it on a card and of course it needed a bit of shimmer so I added some sequins and then left it at that.

This next card I thought I would try some stenciling again. I actually created a stencil using the silhouette and their stencil product which I {heart} since it is sticky but not overly where you can't pull the stencil off your project without ripping it sticky. Having adhesive gives it a nice seal so if your using any semi liquid it doesn't run under the edges...nice!

Then I thought I would try a bit of watercoloring again, this time faired a bit better than my last fiasco.

Celebrate

Found this picture when I was going through a few things. I think at one point I must have wanted to scrap it, but obviously through a cleanup phase it was put away.

This seems to be a theme with me lately, I clean up and then can't find things or I forget I had things in the works. Does that ever happen to you?

Decided to use the pink accent from the rose buttonaires and keep the rest black and white.

Star Wars

Star Wars, the museum. Well technically not a museum but an exhibit nonetheless at our local Tech Museum.

I took my oldest grandson with me to check it out and we really enjoyed ourselves, just wished it was larger. So much cool stuff and we were impressed they had activities for little kids. They kept the crowds a minimum buy giving you a set entry time and then they only admitted in those people whose scheduled time was currently available.

I took lots of photos and it's hard to limit yourself to just a few for a scrapbook page, so I decided to only do a layout with pictures of items that were in the first movie (which is now episode 4,  A New Hope) since for me, that was what hooked me from the begining when I was just a wee lass and have been a fan ever since.

I think I might do a small project life album for my grandson though.
