Page 102 of Stamp It Card magazine

That is where you can find my card in this issue. A simple card really, just heat embossed and a ribbon tied on. I am always surprised (and happy of course) when I get a card picked up.

A Layout From the Past

I was going through some old photos and projects and stumbled across this older layout I did. It caught my eye because not only do I love the photography but I just thought the style held up through the years. I know I often look back through some of my earlier work and I can see it's dated; scrapbooking certainly has gone through some crazy phases. Like tons of stickers, those cute die cut kids from Stampin Station, and of course the cut your photos into shapes stages. I do have other pages that are more simplistic and have noticed that they too seem as classic as they did when I made them. But any hoo this is probably one of my favorite pages. Now I challenge you to dig through your old layouts and admire your past work without feeling the need to rescrap them.

Bacon in a cupcake, Seriously?

Yup. I ventured to the dark side or I should say the savory side to make these delicious cupcakes. It's a buttermilk cupcake with bacon and hazlenuts, frosted with a maple-amaretto frosting and has a bourbon caramel drizzle then adorned with candied bacon bits and a amaretto bubble sugar piece. Have to say these are addictingly tasty. This was my first time for both the savory sweet combo and making the bubble sugar which was super simple and fun to make. Good thing most of these are going to work or I would seriously gain 5 lbs.

A TGF Challenge

I was intrigued by a challenge on the TGF blog about using monotone colors. I created this card using browns and was really happy with the color scheme.

Finally Some Scraptime

Well I love my weekends but lately seems like I have a lot going on between work, birthdays, anniversarys, etc I haven't had much time to play. I am working on some projects and thought I would share the most recent one. This is of my youngest gs, Zack. I have to say he is super cute! But as a Grandma I am supposed to say that right? I just love his little fiesty expression and yes he is adorable!

Encouragement Cards

Everyone needs/wants a little bit of encouragement, right? Well Gallery Idol contest started with this theme and would just like to share a few of the entries I submitted, I wasn't picked but there's always next year.

Used an image I found on line, colored, cut out and "pop dotted" up on top of a full printed image. Text was used from word. And I added a bit of lace to give it more of a girly flair.

This cute little guy was also another image I found online. Stamp is from Unity. Emobssed the base yellow card with Sizzix dot folder. The border was punched using a Stampin Up binder edge punch and have to say I just love the gingham yellow ribbon. I really am into Gingham and the Seam Binding used above.

I really loved the sentiment on this stamp set from Stampin Up. Embossed just the edge with the Sizzix Dot embossing folder and tied on a nice velvet brown ribbon (thank goodness for my ribbon scrap pile)

So what do you get a wonderful guy, well that's a good question and for me..I decided to get something that we can spend time together doing so it was obvious I bought us a kayak for our anniversary gift to each other. So here is what I bought and it should arrive this Friday, so excited to venture into something new and definitely or rather hoping FUN!
