Sophie the giraffe

Another layout for Zack. This one is about his favorite "chew toy" which is called Sophie. I believe that is the actual toy name and not just a pet name given by my daughter. He loved to gnaw on her when he was fully teething and this was the only toy that seemed to provide him any comfort. So it deserved a layout of course.

KK Halloween Stamp

Feeling a bit into the Halloween mood, I made this card for another KK challenge. Using some of the new Echo Park HW line, Perfect Poison KK stamp and colored with my copics.

TGF Contest

Another contest..I find that these are fun to participate in even if I don't win. It just helps me exercise using my stamps is fun and creative ways. This challenge was to use yellow, baby blue and orange. Here is my take on that challenge.

Sweet Baby Zack

Not such a baby anymore. These photos were taken of him at 4 months, he is now a whopping 18months old, where does the time go. Slowly I am getting his layouts done and keeping his album current and just in time too, I need to now start on Marshall's album but given he is less than a week old I think I am ok so far.

What a weekend

Little did I realize that my whole weekend would be monopolized by installing hardwood floors. If you remember I talked my son into a little remodeling and we painted his room, ordered his furniture and the flooring. At the time I ordered the flooring I talked the hubster into doing the rest of the house (3 bedrooms and a hall) because lets face it who likes to look at dirty path worn carpet..and I had reinstalled the carpet already...so it was due for some hardwood.

Well the flooring ended up arriving way later and hubby had a yen for hunting so he went hunting and the flooring sat waiting. But this weekend he knew we would do my son's room and being the good old fashioned wife I offered to help kick start the project. So while he was off buying supplies, there I was pulling up carpet, pad, tack strip and staples, this could be a whole new exercise routine I was thinking.... I must be burning thousands of calories..right?!?  This is no problem, I am feeling good. I then helped my very talented husband install the flooring..ok so I just applied glue and readily handed him pieces as I saw fit but hey I helped so I should get some credit.

After a full day of labor instensive work we should rest right, because at this point my muscles are screaming at me in places I didn't know I had muscles, but heck your not married to me, I was so excited at the prospect of doing our hallway..I told myself...no I am not sore..(swallowing advil)..plenty of energy and with that I offered some inspiring and motivating words to my dear kind sweet husband and somehow conviced him into continuing onto our hallway (the poor fellow.) Mind you he still had to install my son's baseboard and then of course my enthusiasm was running over. So I did as my husband calls all the unskilled labor again..prepping the site..but by the end of the day my enthusiasm had ran out and it was all I could do to pull that last bit of excitement buried within the depths of my soul, hiding from the all the aches and pains ..just so I could keep the hubby company and do all the clean up I had promosed (why do I do these things)..Ok I admit it, my hubby was um right..this was way more than I thought it would be..but heck my hallway looks great and I promised him no work this weekend..whoa this was a way longer post then I meant to..so here are some photos of the hallway and of course a few snippets from my son's room. Thanks for reading thus far.

Here is the hall during and after

Here are some elements of my sons room. While you think the gold and black may not work, it really does.

This is part of his carpet, and the flooring looks a little off here. So here is a closeup on the right.

And here is the paint color. One accent color (one wall) that is teal blue and the other a light blue but has a nice green tone to it so it kind of feels like a sea foam green..just hard to capture with the camera.

More Cards from the Expo

It's funny but when you go to these expos you try to pack as much stuff as you can but yet you don't want to bring or rather can't bring your entire stash so for me I kind of find the rhythm of making what I call the bones of the card..so the basic design, the coloring and adhere down what I can. Then when I get some free time (usually the next day) I add all the embellies and what not..then it seems like I get a ton of cards done in just one day..even though I really started them earlier...teeheehee

So here are more two more TGF stamps. First up Cheeky Chat. (pp is from Papertry Ink)

And next is Cheeky Geeky (she is just so adorable).

Well decided to make a card last minute for another Kraftin Kimmie contest so here is my take on not using a stamp that is a person (mermaids didn't count).

A Layout from this Past Weekend

Here is a layout of my grandson, Zack. I am trying to get his album kick started and kept almost as up to date as I can, which reminds me that I have failed to complete my other grandson Anthony's albums, but I am working on his car album so I am sure he won't mind. Any hoo. just love working on baby pages, they are always so cute to look at and with Zack's Big Blue Eyes and Huge Chubby Cheeks how can you not go awe..how cute.

Back from the Expo

Wow two full days to just crop..it was fun. Made some layouts, made some cards and started a long overdue album about all the house remodeling we have done. So first up is a Kraftin Kimmie stamp and also Art Impression stamp (which involves a ton of coloring, I think it was the longest project I did). By the way if anyone is ever interested in buying any of my cards just let me know (I will put up a side bar link) by sending me an email. I can also customize the insides if you like.

Off To The Expo

My BFF and I are headed to the Scrapbook Expo tomorrow and Saturday and I am almost all packed. I plan on trying to desperately finish some projects I have (mostly a few pages in albums) and taking an assortment of cards to make. Hopefully this will keep me busy for the weekend. I am not planning on any classes just full days of crop time. So looking forward to the friend time as well as uninterrupted scrap time.

I am also anxiously awaiting for my 3rd grandson to be born. His mom is ready for his big debut but as we all know babies only come when they are good and ready. But I digress...so on with the post.

I wanted to share a layout that allowed me to win first place many years ago back when the Expo actually held contests. I won a complete set of Making Memories Totes plus a 2-tier Clip It Up. I then gave the tote set to my daughter in law because she {loves} pink.

I still love this concept for anyone who is a saver like me. I still have baby clothes from each of my kids when they were little to hand down to their little ones. I love seeing the comparison between ages.

Another Halloween Card

This time I made a card for a Kraftin Kimmie Contest..I think I am literally addicted to these stamps since I own at least 2 dozen of them alone. They have such a fun character to them.

Too Early for Halloween?

Did this card for the TGF (The Greeting Farm) contest using a digi stamp. This is their Halloween Bride. I just love being able to double Halloween and a Birthday, it's kind of like a two fer one. Anyways this was my take on their contest. Using the PapertyInk Hexagon Die (love, love, love this) and some older Recollections Halloween paper (while I await the new Halloween lines from Echo Park..sigh). I also used a spider web die from Cheery Lynn (this die is a bit of a challenge) and of course coloring using copics.
