My daughter asked me if I had a get well soon card, she explained that her co-worker's wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Sadly I didn't have much of anything that I would deem appropriate and told her I would make her something.
I wanted watercolors because they have a nice soft feel to them and I picked this stamp from Heroes Arts, one of my first flower type of stamp that I can watercolor with. I actually colored the stamp with water color crayons then lightly misted the stamp and stamped the impression three times without recoloring. The crayons really do leave a nice stamped image for this type of effect.
Then I found a sentiment I felt was perfect for this type of situation from Papertrey Ink, lastly I just needed to mat the card and add in some enamel dots.
Hi there, this is my little spot in the world where I can share with you some of the passions of my life. I hope you find this a place of inspiration that you can use or share. If you find something you like please feel free to "scraplift me" as they say, you can credit me or not either way I don't mind, just enjoy the journey.

Going Back In Time, continued
As promised here is a card I made for another publication which was picked up. Apparently after it was published a stamp company contacted both the magazine and myself asking for correction in the publication which acknowledged their company. I did not realize it at the time but there was a stamp which was very much like the dress I created and viola I got a warn letter telling me of my error of not giving proper credit. Alas no harm came out of it but I still felt pretty bad.
And this card is just one of my favorites that also picked up for publication. To this day I am on the look out for a stamp with dancing skeletons. These happened to be rubons and really adored them. This pp was from Making Memories another company I miss.
Well that's it for this week, have a great weekend! I for one will be celebrating my birthday so I'm pretty sure mine will be fantastic.

Going Back In Time
I had a pretty full weekend so there wasn't much of a chance to create anything but I didn't want to leave you empty handed or would that be emptied eyed so I went back and found the very first card I ever made for a magazine. To my surprise not only was it picked up but it made the cover and back then we were compensated so this card netted me $50, not bad for my very first attempt.
The challenge was to sew on the card and I did on the edges, added a Jolee sticker and tied on a few bows. And I believe the pp was from Chatter Box, oh how I miss that company.
I am also sharing one of the last cards I had picked up for publication, soon after the magazine went off line and I for one was sad to see it go. This card also has stitching on it and it's another fairly simple card.
If you liked these be sure to check back on Wed and I will show you the card that got me in a little bit of trouble.

Happy Mother's Day
Since my original card I had planned for my mom turned into an anniversary card for my hubby I figured I better make my mom a card before I forget and either don't have one for her or rushing to make one.
I actually stamped 2 card panels, the first one I had a crazy idea to stamp into the negative space of a die cut circle but I just didn't feel the love from it so I opted for this plain panel instead. Most of the stamps are from rubber cafe then used a few from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment from Clearly Besotted.
I was going to die cut the happy from orange but then remembered my mom doesn't care for orange, pink worked out pretty good instead.

One Lucky Dog
I recently broke down and finally purchased the Crazy Dog stamps and dies from Tim Holtz. Sadly Beverley's is going out of business along with Toys R Us. Both of these are very close to me and are go to stores so I for one will be missing them, but with every rainfall a bit of sunshine must peek through and the deep discounts were hard to pass up. Thus my purchase.
So with new product in hand I thought I would use these to make my mom a Mother's Day card but the further I created my card I realized how great it would make an anniversary card for my dh. Game changer.
I decided to keep this monochromatic for the most part, and really like how it came out. I colored the dog with copics, circle die cut and used my MFTS sentiment from their dog stamp set. Easy peasy!
And now I won't me amiss with for my anniversary.

Keep It Simple - Lick Bowls
This is another card I was paying homage to keeping it simple. I saw this $5 stamp and knew I had to have it being the cake baker in our family. Again I have the urge to do more with this card like a decorative edge on the strip of pp and more coloring on the tag itself but resisting the urge and keeping it simple, this is definitely a 5 minute card.
Tags easily take the work out of designing a card, adorned with a cute little bow or some bakers twine they easily take center stage. And best thing is if you don't have a die you can buy them from an office supply store.

Keeping it Simple - Celebrating you
Every once in a while I think about how I started scrapbooking with Creative Memories, and how simple everything was. The most creative thing we did were to cut our pictures into shapes and add stickers. Then the first die cut tool came out and we were forever changed.
I wanted to go back to those times and just keep it simple, I diecut a tag, stamped a $5 stamp, colored then mounted onto some pp and added a stamped and embossed sentiment onto a banner die cut. Ok not that simple but it certainly didn't take all but a few minutes and didn't require too many fancy products. I feel like I want to do more so restraining myself is no easy task. Now go out and create something simple and remember how you first started paper crafting.

Feeling like a bit of water coloring I grabbed my Artist Impressions new truck stamp set. I feel like you could use this set for either a guy or a gal. I did fill it with flowers, nothing life changing since that's the sample they provide, albeit I changed it for me but even with flowers I think it still has a masculine feel. I also paired it with a papertrey ink sentiment stamp and added enamel dots.

From Meow To You
I was feeling a little bit non pink after doing so much of it lately so when I saw this pp I knew it was what I needed, bright and cheery and definitely not pink.
MFTS on all things here except for the copics obviously and the little enamel heart which was from doodlebug.. I did borrow the package stamp/die from the Santas Elves set.
