A Purple and Green Thank you

Sharing another card I made over the weekend. This card really gave me some trouble. I was trying to color these pink which just didn't make me happy so as I tried to fix the coloring it just became a hot mess and then it took me three tries to stamp the image again. Ugh! Just was one of those days.

I do like the purple and lime green combo though.

Ombre - Thank You card

It seems like it's been a long time since I have done any paper crafting. I have a ton of sewing projects going on that most of my time is spent behind the machine rather than at my desk.

I decided to take a break and venture back into my craft room. I honestly felt a little rusty but as my projects progressed I was starting to get back into the groove.

First up is an Hombre Thank you card. I can't help think of those pink and white ice cream parlors when I look at this some reason, personally I think it's the washi tape.

And your tip for the day. If you have an electronic die cut machine to cut text or want to use a font on your PC and you spend hours arrowing down through your fonts searching to find the perfect one, then I have a great website for you. It's called wordmark.it. You simply type in your text/word and then upload your fonts and you can see all your fonts at once which then makes it ever so simple to pick the one you want or at least narrow it down.

It's SOOOOO Fluffy!

Hello my fellow bloggers and readers, I wanted to share this adorable little tutu I made for my little granddaughter, granted it's probably a tad too big for her to wear at only 3 months old but I wanted her to have it when she would be ready to wear it.

This is a no sew tutu, easy peasy! I bought a premade crotched headband from JoAnn's and used about 2-1/2 rolls of 6" wide tuille. I say 2 1/2 because I started with a roll that I had already used for other projects and then bought 2 more but I didn't use all of it, but close to half I would say.

I then cut the toile in 14 inch strips. I folded my headband in half and placed it onto a roll of paper towels. Then using 4 cut pieces of toile I began feeding them through the holes and tying a Lark's head knot. Basically in every other hole so there were two rows when all was said and done.

Here is my end result and unfortunately I do not have a cute little toddler to model it for you but I think you will get the idea.

Here you can see the rows of knots

And to give you a better size perspective

Small Tote Bags

Well I finally finished my little bags that I had actually planned on giving for Christmas gifts but never got around to finishing them. I actually made four but already gave one away as a birthday gift.

I went ahead and lined these with diaper cloth similar to my reusable snack bags so you can use them for whatever and not worried about getting them dirty. Perfect for cosmetics.

Not sure if I will hold on to for this year's Christmas gifts, give for birthday gifts or give just because.

Thanks A Bunch

Decided to make a Thank you card, in fact I need to make a few and since I have been using my Project Life cards I figured hey why not use one for a card.

I colored the Clearly Besotted stamps with my copics, then fussy cut it and popped it up. I apologize that I wasn't able to get a better photograph but it was 9pm when I took the picture and daylight was long gone for me.

The green mat was cut with Simon Says Stamps stitched rectangle die and then finished the card with some enamel dots and bakers twine.

Precious Love

I don't know about you but my free time is very limited and I usually reserve Saturdays for playtime, but lately I have other things that are using up that time so I am feeling a bit cheated out of my fun time.

Sunday I spent most of my time in the kitchen, made a chocolate pie for my dh, lemon pound cake for work, some banana and bacon scones with peanut butter with brown sugar glaze for me, citrus and chile braised short ribs for dinner for tonight and frankly I was a bit exhausted after doing all that on top of my normal swim class in the morning.

My dh tried to tempt me to go on a motorcycle ride with him but I was just feeling too exhausted. After he left I found my way into my craft room and was just enjoying being in there. I started to put a few things away, picked up a few pictures and before you know it I had actually completed a layout so I was really feeling pretty happy at this point.

This layout is of my new little grandbaby. I just love little feet and hands, they are so sweet. I haven't journaled yet but I think you get the gest of what I am thinking. And as you can see, I have used a bunch more of my PL cards. I like this line I believe it's called Dream. It was one of the lines my bff gave me part of her kit. It really is very delicate and pretty, perfect for anything girl, baby or love.

I also did some splattering with paints, used a heart punch for the vellum and pink hearts, added some enamel dots, epoxy heart, glittered a butterfly die cut and cut the title from my silhouette and a die. It is so nice when things just go together so quickly, especially given my short amount of play time.

Welcome Winter

Sharing another of my dh's layouts. Have to say I sat down to make a Mother's Day card and ended up making this layout instead. Just goes to show you how my time management works, I was waiting for something to dry on my mom's card and got side tracked with the layout.

Anyhoo I am using up more PL cards. I cut two into triangles, circle punched another, cut a strip of text from one and used a whole card as an accent. Five cards used and about a billion and one to go.

Also used some embossing paste in the background, a bit of washi tape that I cut down and into the shape of arrows, stamped the arrow using one of my favorite stamps and added a few other odds and ends.

And as you can see, I left a little spot for him to do some journaling.

Superhero - Altered Letters

With Easter being this past weekend I didn't think I was going to get anything crafty done because I was using my play time to do a little spring cleaning, sprucing up the yard and getting things ready.

After everyone left and it was quiet I popped into my room and surprised myself at actually finishing something.

These are the first set of letters for the boys. Of course having only to do four of them was pretty easy the next set I have twice as many so I don't think they will go as quickly.

The pp I purchased from Michael's it's their Recollections 12x12 pad. Most of the dies are from Papertrey Ink other than the city die which is from Taylored Expressions. I also used my cameo to cut out the Captain American silhouette, but unfortunately it wouldn't' cut some of the detail so I did use my star die from Memory Box. Oh and the Boom letters are from QK, this was their diesel font that I really love.

Since these letters meant to hang on the wall I had to lean them a bit and the C was particularly challenging, as you can see I used the upmost high tech gadget I could find, a business card folded in fours.

Superhero Canvas - Done

Thought I'd share the last of the canvas I made for my dd.

So here are the three logos, I guess if you can call the images logos. I wanted to try and have two each of the different background colors but unfortunately Batman's logo didn't look very good on red and lets face it, it just didn't make sense.

Here is the last of the words.

And just to show you how much layering this one had. I actually used foam on the white layer because silly me didn't know I actually had white felt.

Now I am on to altering letters and still working on the quilts.
