Eat My Bubbles

I found the sentiment to this card while digging around through my Kraftin Kimmie sentiment stamps, I immediately knew I wanted to pair it with the Avery Elle Hello Chum die and stamp set.

I tried to give the shark a little scene with his watercolor background. I did keep it fairly simple all in all and think my grandsons will get a kick out of this card.

KK - Beachin Birthday

Continuing with my beach themed cards I did a second water color panel and paired it with another KK mermaid stamp that I colored with copics.

Pretty much a duplicate of the first card. While looking for sentiments I did come across one that I plan on making a Hell Chum by Avery Elle card.

Today's high for us is 89.

KK- Birthday Fishes

I don't know where you live but here in the Silicon Valley we reached 90 degrees the other day and all this week we will be in the 80s. I feel like we're skipping spring and heading right into Summer. Not that I mind summer, I just want to keep my cool mid 70s around as long as possible.

But all this hot weather did get me thinking about the beach and the tropics so I dug out some of my Kraftin Kimmie stamps and made some ocean themed cards with her mermaids. Some of my all time favorite stamps.

I did a watercolor panel for the background using some distress inks then stamped my image on some copic paper and colored the image in then just adhered some clear stones along with some ice effects gel for the bubbles. I popped the mermaid and the speech bubble and told myself it was enough. I didn't want to get to busy with the card.

Aloha

I'm not sure where the inspiration for this card came from, one moment I'm watercoloring then next thing I've pulled some inks out of their cubbies and am stamping a hibiscus flower on a panel.

After I finished I wasn't sure why I had done what I had done, but I needed to do something with that base panel so I grabbed a Bo Bunny stamp set for some palm trees and put them on watercolor paper which I colored and fussy cut. I also stamped some surfboards but the proportion of trees to boards was off so I passed on those. I found my trio of hula girls that I actually bought in Maui so was pleased to add them to this card colored with my copics and popped up for a bit of dimension.

Then being lazy I was looking for some stickers but was also looking through stuff and found a bunch of chipboard letters tucked away, how those got over looked when I was doing layouts I'll never know but was happy to find some green letters about the right size for what I needed.

Then you know me and those damn enamel dots so they ended up on the card as well and I couldn't help but feel this needed a little flower somewhere on this card for that true Aloha feel. So punched one out and adhered it onto the lettering. And so here it is completed; one Hawaiian themed card.

Rainbow Duo

I was contacted a few weeks back from someone that came across a card I did back in 2014. They inquired about purchasing it, but lets face it that was 6 years ago and it definitely had been gifted some time ago. That being said I was more than happy to create something new or recreate the original card for them and I choose to do both.

For reference you can find the original card here.

At first I was lets make a new card but the more I looked at my original card I realized it was pretty enough all by itself so I didn't really make that much of a change to it. I used Stampin Up watercolor crayons to paint with. I used the original stencil I had created before and then just added different clouds and matted the card a bit differently but for the most part its the same card.

Then for this second card I decided to stamp the image and heat emboss it then used my acrylic block to dab on some alcohol inks on, misted that heavily with water then pressed the card panel on top to get this rainbow effect.

They both have a unique rainbow effect one being more literal and the other being more interpretive.  I like really like them both.

No Blog This Week

Sorry guys I had to run out of town for a few days and didn't have time to create anything.

Posting a picture of a couple more hobo type bags I have sewn for my shop. I really love the blue floral one, kind of hate to depart with it.

I love how it has pockets on both inside and out.

And here are a few shirts I've sewn for the boys. I really made 2 for the little guy but when his brother saw the poster one he decided he wanted one as well. Normally he doesn't care for the button up which is why I didn't originally make him one.

I really love the middle Mickey shirt with the red contrast yoke and color on the inside. Well that's all I have check back next week and hopefully I should be back to my normal schedule.

Easter Card

I have had these adorable Easter cards or bunny cards rather from Whimsystamps for awhile but I never use them because frankly I don't have any Happy Easter or Spring type sentiments so they always sit unused but what the heck who says you have to have a sentiment, right. So here is one of those stamps colored with copics.

It looked so naked I added a touch of flowers on the card to bring a little more spring and dimension to it.

After stamping and coloring the image I diecut it with my Nestabilities and popped it up on my pp panel base card. So cute I'm pretty sure my dgd will love it.

Happy Birthday - Watercolor

Ssshhh don't tell my husband but I bought myself an early birthday gift, I couldn't resist the Wallpaper Art stamp set from Altenew since I was in the midst of watercoloring and was getting tired of the same ol stamps.

I really prefer my distressed inks as my go to watercolors and I always mean to use my other supplies but I just love how easy these are to work with and the vibrancy they provide.

For these flowers I used Abandoned Coral and Firebrick Red. I like to leave some white as it really helps portray the highlights really well with colors so you'll see a lot of that if you look closely. I also used a little Orange Marmalade and Squeezed Lemon for the middle part and Twisted Citron along with freshly mowed for the leaves which got a little messy but oh well the flowers still look lovely.
